iPhone relocked
We knew this would happen weeks ago. Most of us knew that the iPhone was going to be locked down for third party applications as well as SIM unlocks. It isn’t possible (currently) to jailbreak an iPod touch and the same can now be said of any iPhone running 1.1.1. iTunes no longer communicates with the iPhone, instead iTunes listens for commands sent from the iPhone. This means listening for keys is no longer possible, which means decrypting ramdisks is also no longer possible. The whole thing is a tremendous pain in the ass but absolutely nobody can say this wasn’t expected. Just deal with it and accept it; we all knew what we were getting ourselves in for.
Incidentally, if you do need to restore your iPhone, download this:

And alt-click the restore button in iTunes. You’ll be able to choose the firmware you wish to restore using.

Hello !
I follow all instructions to go back to 1.0.2, but after i start restore, it gives me this message " The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1) "

I used Turbo sim before updated to 1.1.1

This happens when your iPhone goes into lockdown - you can confirm this by checking to see if the IMEI has changed to 004999010640000 (dial *#06#).
You could try reflashing the iPhone's baseband using bbupdater by running the following (after attempting to 1.02 of course):
launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
bbupdater -f ICE03.14.08_G.fls
bbupdater -e ICE03.14.08_G.eep
launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
You can find the firmware files all over the internet. It may fail the first try, reflashing again using the same commands after it fails should work.

IMEI does not changed, same as before, but can not downgrade to 1.0.2
same message ? The iPhone ?iPhone? could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1) ?

I have same problem with my iphone. I cannot downgrade it because itunes give me same massage. I tried to reflash iphone but i wasn't successfully because i dont have MAC. Does any different way exist for windows?

i recently upgraded from 1.0.2 to 1.1.2 by mistake and now im stuck. I have an unlocked US phone so im assuming its a much older baseband (i dont know how to check) still i have tried to downgrade to 1.1.1 n i too get the same error message. I have not been able to do anything. what do i do?
im on OSX 10.5.1 running itunes 7.5. please help!
