iPhone GPS (while we wait)

Since we’re all stuck waiting for a 1.1.3/1.1.4 jailbreak, I’ve yet to actually see how Google Maps’ faux GPS works in person. LocateMe, a neat cell tower triangulation app showed up in official Installer.app repositories last night so I got to take it for a spin. It works really, really well. It pinpointed me to within 200m of my actual location.

Sounds great, Jason. Alas it failed out here in Aglish. I think there is just one tower in range anyway so I'll give it a try from work tomorrow.

  2. Gustav says:

  3. Gustav says:

    oh hey there it is

  4. Jan says:

Doesn't work for me. I'm in Galway, city centre. Same in Oranmore..

  5. Chris Gallagher says:

Wow, your living out in the sticks there arent you? ;-)

  6. Jason Madigan says:

I moved the view ever so slightly but yes, yes I am :)
